🟢 Strong first impression. Polished dark theme, hero search, and branded trust row.
Before click
🔴 Hero chips look like filters. When I click Cartoon, I expect it to toggle on/off like a filter. Instead, it behaves like a shortcut to a full query.
🟡 No copy guidance. The hero doesn’t tell me “these are popular searches” vs “filters you can stack.”
After Click
🟡 I can see overwhelming tags per FX. Each result has 10+ tags (Punchy, Playful, Synthetic, Peppy…). Looks cluttered; hard to parse.
...
after clicking a sound in “Cartoon”:
🔴 Breadcrumb truncation
(Tower Defense Game / Hit Cartoon…) cuts off the sample name.
Fix: show full name on hover.
🔴 Weak action hierarchy
Play competes visually with “View Pack / Favorite / Download.” User intent is to audition first.
Fix: Make Play the dominant CTA. Push secondary actions smaller/right-aligned.
🔴 Irrelevant recommendations
“People also viewed these packs” feels random. Clicking Cartoon → Cartoon FX → now I see “American Soldier” or “Epic Movie Trailer,” which breaks context.
Fix: Anchor recs to user’s filter/query (Cartoon). If cross-genre, label: “Trending outside Cartoon.”
🟢 Persistent audio player stays while browsing. Good for flow.
🔴 Full-screen loading on every click / Back. Kills flow and makes the site feel slow even when the network is fine.
Fix: Client-side routing + cached queries
🔴 Ambiguous authorship. The phrase “by Epic Stock Media” next to the section title(Discover Curated Collections) reads like an authorship credit (as if third-party curators exist). In a first-party library, this adds noise and suggests there might be other curators that I should hunt for.
Fix: Drop the credit here, or replace with a clarifier: “Staff picks from our team.”
🔴 “Discover Curated Collections” vs “Browse by Categories” is ambiguous.
🔴 'Browse by Categories' Looks disabled / secondary. Tiles are dark with ghost numerals; visually weaker than Collections above.
Categories look less important than “Collections” above.
Inconsistent visual hierarchy makes browsing harder.
Fix: Remove ghost numerals or lighten them to make counts clear.
Increase contrast for category tiles.
Add active hover states (lift + outline).
Display counts clearly. \
Suggestion: Hover on Collection card → play a 1-sec blended preview.
🟨 The subcopy mentions UCS taxonomy but buries it in jargon (“The Epic Stock Media Cloud Vault sound library is organized by the Universal Category System”).
FIX: Call out UCS explicitly with plain language (“These categories follow the Universal Category System, an industry standard”). You may add a tiny help link: What’s UCS? \
🟡 Redundant publisher credit. In the player and some rows, “by Epic Stock Media” repeats even though all items are first-party.
Fix:Keep publisher only if multiple publishers exist in the catalog. \
🟡 No preview affordance. Category tiles feel static; I don’t know what I’ll get.
Fix: On hover, play a 0.5–1s audition from a representative sample and show top sub-categories as chips (“Whooshes , Drones , Impacts”). \
🔴 no guidance(Collections/ Categories/Search). New users don’t know where to start.
Fix:Copy nudge: Small line above categories: “Prefer a precise hunt? Try Categories.”
🟡 Generic call to action: “View more”. I don't know what more means.
Fix: Specific, count-based CTA: Ex: “Browse all packs (1,200)"
